CLASC, Inc. gears up for the 2012 Literature Conference- SAVE THE DATE

Keynote Speaker, Katherine Paterson
Katherine Paterson has written more than 30 books for young people and is the current National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. Her books The Master Puppeteer and The Great Gilly Hopkins were National Book Award winners in 1977 and 1979. Paterson received the Newbery Medal in 1978 for Bridge to Terabithia and again in 1981 for Jacob Have I Loved. Her newest book, The Flint Heart, is an imaginative re-telling of Eden Phillpotts’s 1910 fantasy and is co-written with her husband, John, and illustrated by John Rocco.
Author/Illustrator, John Rocco
John Rocco was a creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering and served as pre-production art director at Dreamworks for the top grossing animated film, Shrek. He collaborated with Whoopi Goldberg on the picture book Alice, and his other books include Fu Finds the Way, Wolf! Wolf!, Moonpowder and his newest picture book, Blackout.  Rocco’s illustrations are featured on the jackets of Rick Riordan’s best-selling series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.  His full color illustrations grace the pages of The Flint Heart by keynote speaker, Katherine Paterson, and her husband John Paterson.
